Green Bay and Robert McClory Trail Photos
through Glencoe

Continuing our ride south from Ravinia on the Green Bay Trail we come into Glencoe and the gazebo in the Henry J Kalk Park. The trail actually runs along a few side roads and sidewalks at this point.

A little ways past Hazel Ave (heading south) you get back on to the regular crushed stone trail again. This is the start of a nice wooded part of the trail that passes through Glencoe.

I guess the town of Glencoe claims the trail at this point since the sign now calls it the "Glencoe Greenbay Trail".

This is one of the wooded parts of the trail that you pass through heading south on the GBT. This photo is from early spring so the trees do not have all their leaves yet. I think that this part of the trail looks a little nicer later in the year but this time of year gives you a different perspective.

I thought that this was an interesting little bike path tunnel.... We didn't take this one, so I can't tell you were it goes (sorry)...

As we continue south we have another stretch of crushed stone surface through the woods again. I have been updating the content of these photo pages after the fact and although these particular photos are not that great i like the feel that you get from them at this time of year and they are kind of nostalgic for me too.

I am always riding trails and taking photos and now I have a much better digital camera (and my photographer skills have improved) so I will try to get some updated photos of this trail asap. I'm thinking that this trail would look good in the fall. So stay tuned...

You can get back on to sidewalks again here, but this is where we turned around in Glencoe (at the intersection of Old Green Bay - Walden - Crescent)

The remainder of the photo tour is from April 2012. Although the photo sequence is still north to south the photos were taken from the other direction so you will have the rear view mirror effect.
