Epic A17U Exercise Bike Review
Low Cost Upright

The Epic A17U Upright Bike from Epic (an Icon Fitness brand)  comes with quite a few features for a bike in this price range. Epic A17U Upright

For example, it has a fully adjustable seat (horizontally and vertically), adjustable console, wireless heart-rate chest strap for more accurate readings, transport wheels, water bottle holder, 4 inch fan and the A17U is iFit ready (not just iFit comparable, which requires the purchase of an optional iFit wireless adapter).

Upright exercise bikes are usually less expensive than recumbent models, more compact and much more affordable than other home fitness equipment (such as elliptical trainers and treadmills).

About-Bicycles Review

The Epic A17U Upright is made by Icon Fitness, which is the largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world and also the makers of NordicTrack, Proform and other popular brand fitness equipment so even though the Epic brand has not been around for long, the company behind it has been.

The overall quality of the Epic A17U is good for a bike in this price range but there are a few things that I had some concerns about or just didn't like with this particular bike.

I had an opportunity to ride the Epic A17U at a local Dick's Sporting Goods store and the main thing that I did not like about this bike was that it was not very comfortable to me. The seat was not bad and could be adjusted both horizontally and vertically (which is a plus) but I just could not seem to get very comfortable on this bike.

Although the console tilts back, which helps for viewing, it seemed low and I would be concerned that people taller than myself ~ or with longer legs ~ may even have a problem with their legs hitting the console.

So to sum it up, even though the Epic A17U Upright comes with quite a few features for a bike in this price range and is pretty good quality but there are a few things to consider (as listed above).
