Diamondback 510SR Exercise Bike Review

The Diamondback 510SR Recumbent is a sturdy and comfortable Fitness Bike with plenty of console features to reduce boredom by adding variety, entertainment and additional motivation to your fitness and/or physical therapy routine.

The 510SR is Diamondback's Entry Level Recumbent and is much more reasonably priced than the other high-end recumbent bikes that Diamondback produces yet still offers the same durability and warranty and most of the same features (for around $300 less).

Recmbent Exercise Bikes, such as the Diamondback 510SR, are considered by many to be more comfortable that upright models, provide better back support and still give you the same level of workout that you would get from an upright bike.

Diamondback has been producing outdoor bikes for over 30 years and is well known for their BMX and mountain bikes. Stability and Comfort

One indication of an stationary bikes stability is the assembled product weight. When you compare Diamondback stationary bikes product weights to comparable models in the same price range from other manufacturers you will usually find Diamondback bikes to be heavier and often more stable and durable.

The seat on the 510SR has plenty of padding for a comfortable ride and is adjustable on an angle giving you both horizontal (back and forth) and vertical (up and down) adjustment options. The Seat Back also has a vertical adjustment to provide a comfortable fit for all riders (from tall to small).

The Diamondback 510SR also has both upper and lower handlebars for more riding positions which can help to reduce fatigue. The upper handle bars (and console) also tilt for additional fine tuning.

Console Features, Variety, Entertainment and Motivation

The console is intuitive and easy to operate with a light touch and the large, bright blue LCD console display is easy to read. The QuickSet program keys let you start your favorite routines with a single touch.

For variety there are 20 built-in workout programs plus Target Heart Rate programs that control the bikes resistance levels based on the target heart rate that you choose.**

For additional motivation, the Diamondback 510SR comes with an iPod/MP3 player jack and built in speakers and to help pass the time and keep your mind off of a routine workout the 510SR has a handy fold out magazine rack.

About-Bicycles Review

The Diamondback 510SR Recumbent is a stable and sturdy recumbent bike with many nice features as described above. The upper and lower handlebars are always nice to have and the magazine rack is a simple feature that gives you yet another way to keep your mind of the fact that you are exercising.

The iPod/MP3 player jack and speakers are a nice feature (although not uncommon on exercise cycles these days). Keep in mind that you will need a separate cord to connect your iPod and/or MP3 player to the jack on the bike.

Customer reviews for this bike are high but I have found with some reviews that indicate some quality control issues (broken or damaged parts on delivery for example).

Overall, the design and features on this Recumbent are very nice but you may want to review further.

At the time of this review there was 5 customer reviews of this bike at Amazon All were (5 of 5 stars). Even with some damaged parts on delivery, customers have rated this bike at the top after the issues were resolved.

For example the following review (from John Beckwith , East Tennessee) starts out with:

"I was disappointed however, because the display was erratic and the heart monitor didn't work..."

The review goes on to explain the customer's service call and resolution and was then followed with:

"Bike works perfectly. I've not been so impressed with a company & their warranty in a long time. If your serious about you equipment and your health - look no further. Buy Diamondback." ...

Followed by a 5 star rating. Although this particular review indictes a quality control issue it is also an excellent endorsement of Diamondback's customer service and support.
