The Salsa Fargo is usually categorized as a hardtail mountain bike, in general, although this bike can truely be called a hybrid bike too. Really, how many times do you see drop down handlebars on a mountain bike? 2013 Salsa Fargo 2 Hybrid

Salsa calls this bike their drop-bar, off-road adventure bike for off-road touring and bikepacking.

Some of the key features of the Salsa Fargo include Disc Brakes, Drop Bars for multiple hand positions and a less wind resistence when on the road, plenty of mounts for waterbottles, fenders and packs on the frame and on the fork, a choice of Shimano or SRAM components and of course the 29 inch wheels (it's a 29er).

Salsa Fargo Model Comparisons:

The Salsa Fargo series has 3 price, frame, component levels which include the high-end Fargo TI with the titanium frame, the Fargo 2 which is the SRAM model and the Fargo 3 which is the most affordable.

All of the Salsa Fargo models have Disc Brakes, Drop Bars, fender and multiple waterbottle mounts and 29 inch wheels. After that there are quite a few differences in the 3 models.

The Salsa Fargo bikes are some of the most unique hybrids (or hardtail MTBs if you prefer) that you can get online. The Fargo is an excellent choice when you have a diverse riding stlye ~ you ride XC singletracks, crushed stone or paved trails, dirt, gravel or paved roads and streets ~ and especially when you ride trails and roads when touring or bikepacking.
