The 2013 Tour of Elk Grove - August 2-4, 2013.
Don't miss the 2013 Tour of Elk Grove (TOEG) starting Friday, August 2, 2013
The Tour of Elk Grove is a major international event, sponsored by Alexian Brothers Hospital, that also supports a number of worthy charitable organizations. They also have a very informative and well organized website at www.TourOfElkGrove.com.
The Tour of Elk Grove (TOEG) has a men's and a women's race. The Overall Stage Winners for the 2012 TOEG were Francois Parisien of SpiderTech and Jade Wilcoxson of Optum.
The processional men's 3 day race is recognized by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale, based in Switzerland) and the TOEG is 1 of only 6 cycling races in the US to be sanctioned by the UCI.
There are also entry level races so if you are a racer so be sure to sign up before the entry level races are full. There is even a big wheel race for the kids (I didn't check up on status of that one but that could be fun too).
The 2012 Door County Century Ride - Sunday, September 8th, 2013.
Registration for the Door County Century ride, which takes place on 9/8/13, will open on 4/1/13. Although I don't think that this is technically a "Charity Ride" they have connections with some charity organizations including Team In Training (TNT) which is the signature event of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
I like that there is no formal start time (they suggest between 6:30am and 10am) and you can do the full Century or they have routes for 28.5, 50 and 70 mile rides.
For more information on this ride see www.DoorCountyCentury.com
The North Shore Century Ride(s) - 9/22/2013
The Evanston Bicycle Club will have their North Shore Century Ride, which also includes 25, 50, 62 and 75 mile rides on September 22, 2013. For more information on this event see the Evanston Bicycle Club website.
